A Brief history behind Fresh Ground Records / Fresh Ground Sound Studio

1983 Mark Antaky opens "Valley Center Studios" in Van Nuys, Ca. along with engineer and producer David Jenkins.

Starting as a two rehearsal/showcase rooms, VCS expanded in a few years to five rooms.
This included two 24 track recording studios and 3 pre-production/rehearsal rooms.

2003:  Valley Center Studios business is sold and occupied by recording artists Elliot Smith.

2004:  Elliot Smith passes away and his managers Joel Graves and Robert Cappadona continue the operation of the recording studio now named "New Monkey Studio".

2006:  Mark Antaky moves to Ventura, Ca. and sets up a private studio nicknamed "Song Writers Studio"  and concentrates on songwriting and working with other songwriters.

2012:  Studio is renamed "Fresh Ground Sound " and opens its business to the public. The studio is set up for recording with 2 isolation rooms and a Pro Tool station. The main tracking room is also set up to accommodate 
REHEARSAL for bands to rent hourly. Fresh Ground Sound is also expanding its publishing
and always seeking local upcoming artists and fresh new talent.

2014 Producer Dave Jenkins moves to Ventura county and starts producing recordings at Fresh Ground Sound.
